There is just something about the sun that makes the best of us come forth. Living in Norway, I have learnt to appreciate the little sun we have. For some reason we have been graced with sun and warmth this last week, and because I know it can’t last long, I will soak it all in while I can. Now I’m wondering why I’m sitting here and writing this blog post when I can be tanning outside and reading a good book… Okay, I’ll make this short and sweet!
Its kind of embarrassing to confess, but lately I have been really hooked on the Divergent series. You know the movie with Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet? Well the books are even more amazing! I’m a huge fan of good literature- heart of darkness being one of my all-time favorite novels- but I’m also such a sucker for adventurous fiction. It feels like I’m watching a movie in my mind, and rather than having the movie last for just 1.5-3 hours, it can last up to 8 hours depending on the length of the book.
Back to the topic of this post! Yesterday Hanna and Taylor hosted their 18th/19th birthday lunch at Hanna’s house. There hummus, tuna, greek salad, cookies, cupcakes, and everything in between. It could not have been more beautiful, especially when the sun flooded the room and lifted all our spirits. The door was also open so a fresh breeze rolled in as we ate. Here are some pictures! Birthday girl to the right! Taylor’s best friend, Marissa, is visiting this week so we’re trying to show her how it is living in Oslo. And of course the mandatory portrait shots :P Nadine and I take a good picture, yes? Cuties!I’m really into taking candid shots. I tried doing it here, but as my friends pointed out to me every single “in the moment” shot makes them look like idiots. So maybe I’ll stick with the “smile, okay shoot” method! Okay, never mind- I got it :DThis was the bag I used yesterday! I love the color and the slightly unorthodox shape :) Its perfect for summer and spring, and is definitely coming with me to college. I had to add two pictures of the cookies and berries because, well, they’re cookies and berries. Enough said. I love my Isabel Marat shirt because it is embroidered with roosters. Of all things, roosters! Taylor opening one of her gifts, a beautiful bracelet from Thune. I
I hope you enjoyed the pictures and continue to have a wonderful Sunday. I’m off to read more Divergent in the sun, and in a few hours my grandparents will be coming over for cake to celebrate my little sister’s 12th birthday.
A big thank you to Hanna and Taylor for hosting this wonderful lunch.
