Christmas Dinner

In Norway we have this wonderful tradition of celebrating Christmas throughout the entirety of December. This time every year hotel bars and restaurants are filled with friends, family, and colleagues that are all celebrating Christmas together at something called a “Julebord”. Directly translated to English this becomes “Christmas table”. The point of this tradition is to bring people together and have a good time, and judging from these pictures I am sure that you can see that we had a fantastic time. This dinner is part of our tradition that goes back, what 3 or 4 years now? You could call it a luxurious potluck of sorts. I got off easy this time because I just had to bring a bottle of wine- but just as well because as you can see from my earlier post, I was at the cafe several hours right before :) IMG_5606 IMG_5601 IMG_5604     IMG_5616 IMG_5621  IMG_5624 IMG_5625 IMG_5630 IMG_5633Seeing as it was a formal dinner I wanted to wear something classic and elegant. The Hugo Boss dress that I wore is black so you can’t really see the details, but it is beautifully rouched at the shoulder and by the waist. It fits perfectly for formal occasions but also work (when that time comes). I paired it with some gorgeous Chanel earrings to add a bit of sparkle to the ensemble.IMG_5644 IMG_5634Maud is so incredibly beautiful- in fact- ALL my friends are GORGEOUS!! Btw check out Maud’s fantastic necklace, its a family heirloom so to speak because it has been passed down several generations. I love jewelry, clothes, bags or anything you can wear that has a history and a story. Right now, for example, I am wearing my mom’s diamond ring that she was given for her confirmation when she was 15 years old. I found it in one of her old jewelry boxes and have adopted it ever since :)IMG_5638  IMG_5646My friends are even gorgeous here!! #supermodel (yes, I just said hashtag something. This is what my english has come to. Speaking of hashtags, check out this hilarious Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake sketch hereIMG_5652   IMG_5697 IMG_5715 IMG_5721I decided to be a bit artsy with this next picture. Hanna was just fixing her hair or applying lipgloss so this picture was taken completely in the moment. But Hanna (being ridiculously photogenic) looked too fabulous for me not to edit it! She doesn’t like the picture, but there is something Brigitte Bardot-like with it?  IMG_5739 IMG_5749Another tradition we have is Secret Santa. This was we don’t have to buy gifts for everyone but can give one really nice gift to one person. I get really into it, as you can probably tell from this picture, and got a beautiful gold bracelet from Anna this year.  IMG_5760 IMG_5762And now for some more pictures! IMG_5769 IMG_5772 IMG_5773 IMG_5785 IMG_5797 IMG_5798   IMG_5807IMG_5803 It looks like we’ve spent lots of time taking pictures, but to be honest that wasn’t the case at all. The camera just kind of floated around and that way we got to document our night. These pictures symbolize more than just out night; they symbolize our Senior year, IB 2, our friendship, and all the fun we have with each other. Thanks for a Great Night Everyone! -Nora
