It is autumn, and I’m in my senior year. That only means one thing: College Applications.
I’m writing things like “the specific plan I have for using the education I hope to receive” and describing myself in 650 words. Writing creatively, and even worse- writing about myself – is something I have never done before. It breaks away from the typical essays we have learned to write in school: “intro, body 1, body 2, body 3, conclusion.”
I’m exploring everything from my love of delicatessens, to my trip to india, and to my inspirations. (wonder what they’re going to think of me :O)
And then I decided to write this post which I’ve been thinking about it for a long time.
Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook and author of “Lean In, Women, work and the will to lead” is bringing back feminism.
The telegraph writes that Lean In “represents Sandberg’s explosive call to action, for women to stop holding themselves back and to ‘lean in’ to their careers, warning that ‘we lower our own expectations of what we can achieve’ and so hobble our own progress.”
The most important thing Sheryl Sandberg has taught me to think is this:
“What would you do if you weren’t afraid?”
